The Learning Disabilities Association of Prince Edward Island (LDAPEI) supports and advocates for all Islanders impacted by Learning Disabilities. This may be, for example but not limited to, via; - tutoring, advocating for improved education systems, mental health support advocacy and improved employment opportunities.
LDAPEI organizes educational workshops, support groups, and public awareness presentations.
LDAPEI staff are available to meet and speak with children, parents and adults regarding learning disabilities. We can provide information about services available and refer people to them.

Our Programs
Reading Program
Barton Reading and Spelling Program students learn to read and spell using a phonetic-based system.
Parent Support Group
A supportive community where families can ask questions, exchange ideas, and feel less alone in their journeys.
Creative Minds
Creative Minds is an inclusive art-based program designed to strengthen executive functioning skills in children, youth, and adults with learning disabilities and neurodivergence. Through guided, hands-on art activities, participants will build skills like planning, organization, focus, emotional regulation, and task completion—while expressing themselves creatively in a supportive environment.

Community Presentations and Advocacy
Learning Disability presentations and workshops are available to community groups, upon request. These presentations can be tailored to suit your specific organizational needs. LDAPEI does not charge groups for these presentations, however, any donations are greatly appreciated, and tax receipts can be supplied.
LDAPEI advocates for all Islanders impacted by Learning Disabilities, for example by supporting in person or by supplying information to various individuals, community groups and government departments.
