LDAPEI Board
LDAPEI recruits Board members on an ongoing basis. Each Board member brings a skill that is needed which may have been acquired via lived experience, professional training etc. Board meetings take place either in person or via Zoom approximately 10 times a year. Board members sit on a sub-committee reflecting their skillset. The sub-committees are; - Programming, Advocacy, Governance, Finance. Current Board members backgrounds include; - government, further education, lawyers, educators, psychologists, accountants. Several of our Board have lived experience of LDs. As with many not-for-profit charities fundraising is vital to our existence. If this is an area you have strength in and wish to help us we would welcome the conversation.
The process for recruitment to the Board requires submission of a resume and a brief letter (or audio/video clip if more practical), explaining why an individual wishes to join. This should detail what skills they would bring to the Association. The Board considers each submission and invites a new Board member to attend at the next meeting. There are no term limits. Individuals are welcome to stay on the Board in accordance with the By-laws and Constitution.
